CapStone makes 1,000th Loan
On May 8, 2009 Capstone Trust made its 1,000th loan. This marks an important milestone for the microfinance institution which operates in Chennai, India. CapStone was established by DIG in 2007 to pioneer housing solutions in the Indian urban environment and demonstrate the viability of a sound individual lending model. The institution currently offers loans for home, business and personal use, targeting low-income, economically active urban populations. Capstone distinguishes itself from other urban microfinance institutions in India because of its strong emphasis on housing finance and the use of an individual lending methodology.
